After School Cooking Class Registration Fees

Sprouting Chefs believes that gardens and kitchens are the platforms for effortless education. Students learning in a kitchen or garden environment make connections to each other and the curriculum they are learning in the classroom with a sense of ease and curiosity. Donating to our organization allows schools who often do not have the funds to pay for all or any of our Seed to Table Classes, After School Cooking Classes or Garden Clubs. Your generosity bridges the gap from seed to table.

On behalf of the students, parents and staff of the schools we are able to provide our services in, we thank you.

Schools Currently Enrolled in Seed to Table Program, Garden Clubs or After School Cooking Classes:

Forest Grove Elementary - Burnaby, BC (Garden Club, Seed to Table Program, After School Cooking Classes)

Lochdale Elementary, Burnaby, BC (Seed to Table Program)

Windsor Elementary - Burnaby, BC (Seed to Table Program)

Eagle Harbour Montessori, West Vancouver (After School Cooking Classes)

Volunteer Opportunities:

Sprouting Chefs is focused on improving the lives of youth. We believe that healthy minds and bodies start with healthy eating. We believe that healthy eating begins with a thorough knowledge, understanding and appreciation of where our food comes from – starting in a garden. Sprouting Chefs is in its 8th year operating a school garden program in North Burnaby at Forest Grove Elementary and needs volunteers for the After School Programs. We also need volunteers for our program in West Vancouver.

Students can apply for a “build your own schedule” placement with Sprouting Chefs. A minimum commitment of 15 hours is required. Students are expected to clearly communicate their availability when applying. Once a student has committed to specific dates and times, at least two weeks’ notice must be given if the student will be unable to attend, as your presence will be integral to the running of cooking classes and events!
